Disaster Relief Ministry

The ABA Disaster Relief Ministry is a national effort by the churches of the American Baptist Assoc. to bring relief to those suffering the effects of natural or man-made disasters. There are currently 7 mobile units operating with plans to add an additional 8. These units are sponsored by various local churches from Florida to Arkansas. Living Faith MBC is happy to be the sponsor of Unit 7. The Lord has provided us with an 18' trailer that is well equipped for this ministry. We respond as needed with generators, chain saws, bottled water, and many other items in the wake of a crisis. Once we reach an affected area, we work through local churches and pastors in our Association to get the relief items to those who need them. Many times after a disaster strikes, it is faith-based organizations like ours who are the first on the scene once an area is opened by the emergency responders. Long before government sponsored relief groups arrive, we are there. The Bible teaches us in the Book of James that pure religion is helping those in affliction, and we believe the Disaster Relief Ministries does just that.
